There's a unique building on Central Park North with candy stripe brickwork and curvy bay window facade which always had us wondering what the original cornice looked like. The archival photo circa 1905 shows the Semiramis at 133-139 West 110th Street sometimes after it was constructed and the original cornice can be seen at top. This was probably one of the luxury "new construction" of the time which would have introduced elevators to the area. Each apartment was advertised having 6-7 rooms with "bath, pantry and servant's toilet." They probably are divided up today but must have been amazing when they first entered the market over 100 years ago. Archival image courtesy MCNY
