Geodesic Domes

Another thread on here described someone's custom hex molds, which are pretty neat. It led to me thinking...

The thing about an equilateral triangle is that if the edges were mitred at the right angle, you could assemble them into a geodesic dome -- anything from a 20-sided icosahedron up to, well, something with a lot more sides.

And you'd only need one piece! Of course, you'd need to cast it an awful lot. But it might be an interesting way to get the elusive dome shape onto the board. Or a way to make a really really big d20.
